Lecture: Mining in Jemnice (CZ)

The lecture provides an insight into the history of silver mining in the Jemnice area and shows the significance that mining once had for the region.
Another focus is on the work of the Jamník association, which is dedicated to the restoration and preservation of the historical mine. Some technical and safety-related aspects of the development of the tunnel will also be presented.
The lecture also serves as an introduction to the subsequent excursion on September 19, 2026, during which participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the mine and its surroundings.
Registration:
As space is limited, we kindly ask for registration no later than one week before the event via email at office@thayaland.at or by phone at 02843 / 26135.
As part of the INTERREG project "Sala Cultura CzonA," numerous events and exhibitions will take place in 2026, focusing on art, natural resources, history, and traditions of the border region between Jemnice (CZ) and Thayaland.
