The wonderfully restored Annakirche, THE baroque insider tip near the State Opera in downtown Vienna, opens its doors for contemplative Advent concerts. The program spans from the Viennese Classical period to the most beautiful national and international Advent songs, masterfully interpreted by trumpeters and organists - a joyful and reflective evening that sets the mood for the upcoming Christmas celebration and one that should not be missed.
The heated church, consecrated by Empress Maria Theresa, is adorned with magnificent frescoes by Daniel Gran, the same artist who created the fresco cycle in the dome of the Festsaal of the National Library.
The trumpet magic in the Annakirche invites moments of pause – moments in which one can escape the hustle and bustle of the pre-Christmas season to reflect on what is truly important.
