Gisele Jackson + Club 54 - Soul of Disco

The singer Gisele Jackson, who hails from Baltimore, was practically born with a love for music. After all, Aretha Franklin, Mavis Staples, and John Lee Hooker were trusted babysitters while Gisele's father prepared meals for these icons of funk and soul in the kitchen of his music club.

Gisele Jackson began her career as a "Raylette" in Ray Charles' backing choir and in Donna Summer's band. She performed as the opening act for bands such as Tito Puente, Bette Midler, The Commodores, and the B-52s.

The highlight of her career so far has been her club classic "Love Commandments," which reached No. 3 on the Billboard Dance Charts. Now, Gisele Jackson is fulfilling a long-held dream of a show featuring music in the spirit of "Studio 54," along with current songs from house and club music. Her own compositions will also be part of the program.

In a well-arranged show, many disco classics such as "On the Radio," "Hot Stuff," "Don't Leave Me This Way," "It's Raining Men," and "Car Wash" will be performed. More recent songs like "Sweet Dreams," "Gonna Make You Sweat," "Don't Stop the Music," and "Poker Face" will also be included.

This will be presented by a high-caliber band under the direction of Werner Wurm ("Hot Pants Road Club").
