JEDERMANN in Graz - A Theater Event in Public Space

This JEDERMANN is not a traditional ritual or a museum reproduction. It is a vibrant theater event in public space - for the people of today, in a city of today. In a contemporary, clear production, Hugo von Hofmannsthal's classic meets our present: direct, sensual, accessible. Instead of rigid pathos, this version relies on ensemble storytelling, immediate engagement with the audience, and an open, modern visual and musical language.

What makes this JEDERMANN special: Each city writes itself into the piece. The table society reflects Graz - its voices, faces, attitudes. Thus, the classic becomes a local event with a regional impact. Music, movement, and text merge into an intense theater evening that touches, challenges, and resonates. It is about responsibility, power, guilt, and transience - and the question that concerns us all: What remains in the end?
