Pentecost Concerts of the Münzbach Chamber Orchestra
Romantic Sound Worlds with Weber and Dvořák

On the Pentecost weekend, the Münzbach Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Mag. Georg Prinz, invites you to its next concert series in Münzbach, Perg, and Waldhausen. The program focuses on works by Carl Maria von Weber and Antonín Dvořák. Alongside Weber's Clarinet Concerto No. 2 in E-flat major, Op. 74, interpreted by soloist Verena Kastner, Dvořák's Symphony No. 9 in E minor, Op. 95 "From the New World," one of the most popular works in the symphonic repertoire, will also be performed.

In honor of the 200th anniversary of Carl Maria von Weber's death in 2026, the orchestra is particularly dedicating itself to the works of this significant composer of early Romanticism. The concert evening will open with Weber's famous Rondo "Invitation to the Dance," Op. 65, in the colorful orchestral arrangement by Hector Berlioz, which impressively introduces the sound world of early Romanticism. The subsequent clarinet concerto is considered one of the most significant solo works in the romantic clarinet literature, captivating with both virtuosic passages and lyrical expressiveness.

The highlight of the evening will be Dvořák's 9th Symphony "From the New World," a masterpiece of high Romanticism that has delighted audiences for generations with its memorable melodies, rhythmic energy, and emotional soundscapes.
