On the eve of the Feast of the Virgin Mary, the Stiftskirche Waldhausen will become the venue for a vocal night featuring extraordinary rarities: Domenico Scarlatti, alongside his 555 harpsichord sonatas, created one of the most significant vocal works of the 18th century with his "Stabat mater." Similarly, the young Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, in his vocal works of up to 16 voices, manages entirely without an orchestra and composed his singular "Te deum" in 1826 in the spirit of Bach's motet artistry.
