Jazz & Classical in Oberdürnbach! In the 30th anniversary year of the composer’s death, the annual festival dedicated to Gottfried von Einem is taking entirely new paths and presenting jazzy sounds at the highest level: internationally renowned artists such as jazz pianist Monika Herzig and OE1 jazz scholarship holder Nina Feldgrill will respond playfully with lively and captivating jazz improvisations to original works by Gottfried von Einem and his companion Darius Milhaud. With touching songs by jazz composer Margaret Bonds and contemporary Rosalind Page from Australia, the event also offers an exciting opportunity to encounter more exceptional female artists. Rector Marcus Ratka from the Jam Music Lab Private University for Jazz and Popular Music Vienna will deliver the laudation.

Another innovation: In the lead-up to the event, schools in the region will be engaged through lectures to familiarize the young and youngest generation with the work and significance of Gottfried von Einem.
