Cantarmonie - a new choir idea

The selection choir from Upper Carinthia and East Tyrol brings choral music to life under professional guidance. In a community, one is familiar with the talented musicians and singers. Often, these individuals are actively involved in village life, from the church choir (if still existing) to musical morning and evening entertainment, offering a lot. The idea of the association "Cantarmonie" is to utilize these talents and this wealth of experience and bring them together on a regional level.

Thus, the founders of the association came together to consider how to promote our local singing talents. It quickly became clear that there must be an offering that brings together both young talents and seasoned voices, challenging and nurturing them through selected literature. The two artistic directors, Gernot Kacetl and Alois Wendlinger, incorporate suitable literature from all styles and eras into the repertoire.

Motivated singers from almost all parts of Upper Carinthia and East Tyrol now come together to exchange ideas about elevated choral literature and study it under the guidance of knowledgeable choir directors. The chairman of the Cantarmonie association, Florian Mattersberger, is convinced that the collaboration of so many beautiful voices from so many different valleys and villages is simply wonderful.

Each year, 1-2 projects are carried out with the Cantarmonie ensemble in the region.
