When the Querschläger began their musical journey in Lungau in 1990, it was not yet apparent that they would become one of the most distinctive formations in the local music scene. What started as an insider tip evolved over more than three decades, over 900 concerts, and countless stages into a cult band that consistently eludes any categorization.

Independent of record labels and fashion trends, the Querschläger have developed their own unique style: dialect music with lyrical depth, combined with musical cabaret, fine humor, and surprising seriousness. Characteristic is the deliberate clash of opposites – musically, linguistically, and thematically – from which something distinctive with great emotional power emerges.

In their songs, well-known musical elements from blues, rock, folk, and folk music are recontextualized and filled with stories, characters, and observations from everyday life. The concept of home is repeatedly at the center – between idyll and reality, nostalgia and analysis, satire and seriousness. All of this is presented in the Lungauer Innergebirgs dialect, without a raised finger of admonition, but with great closeness to the people.
