In 2026, the influential British art-punk band Fischer-Z, led by songwriter, performer, and multimedia artist John Watts, will celebrate 50 years of band history – and at the same time announce a new studio album and an extensive worldwide tour set to take place in spring and autumn 2026. "It's hard to believe it's already been fifty years," says Watts. "It has been an incredibly intense journey – full of highs and lows – but I can't wait to celebrate this anniversary with everyone. Here's to many more years of new music, concerts, and art."

2026 marks a significant milestone – 50 years of Fischer-Z. The new album "X-Ray Serenade" combines powerful new songs with exciting reinterpretations of some of John's favorite tracks from earlier years. The album will be released on September 4, 2026, by Cherry Red Records.

March – The first single "Strings" will be released digitally, including an audio release and music video. A limited vinyl edition is planned.
September – The new album "X-Ray Serenade" and the third single "Labadabadaar": audio release and music video will be available digitally. The album will be released on CD, vinyl, and as a limited special edition.
Autumn 2026 – Additionally, a high-quality anniversary package will be released to honor the band's extraordinary career so far. This will compile previously unreleased archival material, which will be published in a very special, strictly limited edition.

The Fischer-Z Podcast – John Watts has recorded 14 podcast episodes with renowned podcast host Martin Bull, which will be released in a bi-weekly rhythm in 2026. These will include previously untold stories about John's favorite song from each album, a special album feature, and bonus episodes with guests.
