It is a guarantee of fresh vitality, exuberance, and sensory delight: the "Viennese Johann Strauss Concert Gala." Since 1996, this Austrian export hit—the original featuring Kendlinger's K&K Philharmonikers—has captivated more than 1.5 million enthusiasts in 19 European countries. It serves as a musical fountain of youth, one that even kings and emperors would truly enjoy—complete with cult status! In 1996, Matthias Georg Kendlinger launched this tour, which has become one of the most successful in music history with well over a million visitors to date. Kendlinger is the founder of the K&K Philharmoniker, the K&K Ballet, and the K&K Opera Choir. Together with his ensembles, he receives bravos and standing ovations in concert halls across Madrid, Zurich, Oslo, Paris, Berlin, and the Vienna Musikverein. Kendlinger annually curates the program, leads the rehearsals, and is often seen at the conductor's podium. Alternating conductors include his son Max Kendlinger, Taras Lenko, and Ihor Muravyov. In selected cities, Kendlinger's K&K Ballet can also be experienced—co-founded by the unforgettable Viennese choreographer Gerlinde Dill, who choreographed the world-famous New Year's Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic for over two decades. From 2009 to 2020, Viktor Litvinov, former ballet master of the Kyiv Opera, followed in her footsteps. This year's ballet master will once again be the dancer and choreographer Marianna Stankevych. The program features not only the unmistakable evergreen melodies of the Strauss dynasty but also a variety of rarities. Refreshing humor is a hallmark of this concert series. Of course, one can also look forward to the Blue Danube Waltz and the obligatory encore, the Radetzky March. All in all, the Viennese Johann Strauss Concert Gala enchants its audience, even on Danish television DR and ZDF, where it has been broadcast multiple times.
