Oberlandler Treasures

Excursion: Landeck, Finstermünz, Grins - with Christoph Volaucnik and Albert Ruetz.

The Tyrolean Oberland is home to numerous art historical and historical treasures that are unfortunately mostly unknown. Our journey begins at the old castle of Landeck. There, during a guided tour of the castle museum, we will learn about the diverse history of the Landeck region and the famous Baroque master builder Jakob Prandtauer from Stanz! After that, we will continue our journey to the historic border crossing of Alt-Finstermünz. This border crossing to Graubünden, located deep in the Inn Gorge, was established at the end of the Middle Ages with fortified towers. Local guides will explain the history of this site, which was restored just a few years ago. We can refresh ourselves at the castle tavern before heading to Grins, the former home parish of Albert Ruetz. He will introduce us to the wonderful Rococo church there.

Meeting point: Bus station Feldkirch, opposite Katzenturm
Departure: 9:50 AM, Landeck, then to Alt-Finstermünz, followed by a trip to Grins
Return: approx. 4:30 PM
