Four Directions - in Nature - Four Qualities of Being Human - Four Seasons of the Soul - Four Shields of Power

The Medicine Wheel can be found in many tribal cultures. It served as a guide and for real-life coping. But it was much more than that. It was seen as a model of life itself.
Everything that happened out there in nature was experienced by people.

Thus, the Sacred Circle of Nature was regarded as a symbol of human life. Humans are also part of these natural cycles. Each direction can be seen as a place or quality - perhaps even as a challenge of inner processes.

In the constant and genuine journey through these qualities, we can contemplate the human developmental phases and their respective tasks. This also gives us an understanding of transitions and their character.

Every inner growth requires the willingness and openness to the transformative processes of life.

The transitions or thresholds are as important as the qualities themselves. Clinging to a life phase means stagnation, a standstill in inner growth. Here too, the annual cycle in nature serves as a great model for us.
