Bychkov, Cho & Czech Philharmonic

As a soloist, the internationally acclaimed pianist Seong-Jin Cho makes his debut. In a remarkably short time, pianist Seong-Jin Cho has risen to the top of the international piano scene, having won the first prize at the International Chopin Competition in 2015 at the age of twenty, placing him among legends such as Maurizio Pollini, Martha Argerich, and Krystian Zimerman - and now he can be experienced for the first time in Linz! His interpretations are characterized by an almost infinite love for detail, with which Cho brings out shimmering, nuanced textures and timbres. For his debut at the Brucknerhaus, he brings with him one of the most beloved romantic piano concertos: Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2. He will be accompanied by an ensemble that is undoubtedly among the best in the world: The Czech Philharmonic is famous for its warm, dark, typically Bohemian sound, which shines brilliantly in the late Romantic repertoire. In the second half of the concert, the renowned Prague orchestra and chief conductor Semyon Bychkov will heat things up with Rachmaninoff's Symphonic Dances, which he himself called "his best work" for good reason.
