Egg Museum "Schellenklang Episode 2"

The successful exhibition last year on the cultural history of cowbells has been extended and sheds light on new aspects. Organized by the Egg Museum association, the narrative arc expands from herd bells to trophies. The rhythms and sounds of bells or jingles on grazing animals transform landscapes into magical soundscapes. "Jingle Sound" focuses on the practice of animal bells - when, where, and why certain bells are hung on animals, and provides insights into the diversity of forms, types, and sounds of bells, as well as their production and use. Follow conversations with farmers, herders, a bell maker, saddlers, strap makers, and collectors from the Bregenzerwald. The exhibits, which exclusively come from their collections, testify to their use in agriculture of days gone by - they are pieces of ideal value: memories of successful summer pastures, professional and sporting achievements, as well as expressions of certain pride. "Jingle Sound for Children" as an "exhibition within the exhibition," guided tours, and a supporting program complement the offerings. Language, in poem form by Norbert Mayer, region, and sound condense into a multifaceted cultural-historical network.
