Final presentation of the Artist-in-Residence Program 2026

Through the international summer symposium Textile Culture Haslach, which has been taking place for over 30 years, and the European Textile Network ETN, there are numerous contacts with textile artists in several countries at the Textile Center Haslach. These artists wish to utilize the infrastructure in Haslach and the inspiring surroundings of the entire region for individual study stays. Since 2022, the Textile Center Haslach, in cooperation with the European Textile Network ETN, has been offering three annual spots for different workshops or artistic areas.

In 2026, the artist-in-residence period will take place from August 5 to 14. From the applications, which can be submitted until the end of March, three artists will be selected for the following areas: shaft weaving, tufting, and jacquard weaving. The young artists will receive support and technical assistance from the staff at the Textile Center Haslach during their stay, but they will have complete freedom in their artistic work. In addition to exchanging ideas with one another, the goal is also to engage with the location and local conditions, interact with people in the region, and make their external perspectives visible in the workshops of the Textile Center Haslach or in public spaces.

On Friday, August 15, at 7 PM, a public presentation will take place, where the artists will provide insights into their work, discuss their creations and approaches, and encourage dialogue among interested parties.
