Hubert von Goisern - too quiet?

After three years of being off the stage: Hubert von Goisern announces a tour for 2027 – an open musical field between outlooks and reflections. Loud and quiet. Whether it's too loud or too quiet is a question he poses to the audience. "Too loud? Really? I don't think about that. I'm more interested in where that boundary lies for the audience." "I go into every concert with a curiosity about what will happen that evening – at least as curious as the audience."

When Hubert von Goisern goes on tour again in 2027, three years will have passed since he last performed in concert format before an audience. However, he was never silent during this time. As part of the European Capital of Culture 2024, Goisern spent an entire summer on the streets – with spontaneous, short-notice concerts, featuring changing guests and line-ups. Musical encounters that eluded any planning. The street created closeness and opened up a new artistic freedom. "I was never gone. I was outside, on the street, playing – with whoever showed up. I invited people; whoever had time was there. Learning to deal with constantly changing situations was both a challenge and an enrichment. We played around 50 concerts. It wasn't a vacation – it was better than a vacation."

Much of what was created in 2024 will continue to resonate – not as a concept, but as an attitude. Hubert von Goisern has always been an artist who has evaded the expected. His music moves between tradition and innovation, between quiet moments and radical breaks. His style has never been static – but always in flow. "Actually, I am someone who prepares thoroughly for everything. But this was about experimenting, about allowing oneself to be surprised. The appeal for me lies in the interplay, in connecting things that perhaps don't belong together. I've never repeated myself – why should I start now?"

The new tour will start exactly there: not as a reproduction of existing programs, but as an open musical field where things can develop. Loud and quiet – also as different musical approaches that will run through the tour. "I know that some would be happy if I just played familiar songs. But I have enough to do fulfilling my own expectations. Besides, there are also those who would be disappointed if I couldn't come up with anything new."

The time as a quiet companion "Heast as nit, wia die Zeit vergeht...?" Is there anything more ephemeral than music? It is as fleeting as time itself. Ears open and listen.
