Chamber Music Festival: Danube to the Other

"Danube to the Other" brings the Chamber Music Festival to Graz and tells of music that transcends borders. On August 27, Café Stockwerk Graz in Styria will become a meeting point for an evening of jazz, Balkan, and South American sounds. Violinist Pavel Shalman, accordionist Boki Radenković, and clarinetist Miloš Milojević will share the stage, following musical paths along the Danube – and far beyond. The pieces carry influences from Eastern Europe, incorporate rhythms from the Balkans, and extend all the way to South America. This creates a program that starts quietly, builds in intensity, and continually reveals new colors. At times it evokes distant journeys, while at other times it resonates with familiar melodies that linger in the ear. Café Stockwerk provides the perfect setting: close to the musicians, right in the action, and with that atmosphere that makes live jazz so vibrant. Between improvisation and clear lines, an evening is created that moves without being loud. "Danube to the Other" demonstrates how diverse jazz can sound and how strongly music can connect places.
