Leitzersdorf Cabaret Summer 2026 – Lainer & Aigner "Diligently Catholic"

On Friday, August 7, 2026, kunstWerkl presents the cabaret artists Günther Lainer & Ernst Aigner with their new program "Z’fleiß katholisch" at the Leitzersdorf Cabaret Summer 2026. The cabaret evening starts at 8:00 PM. Before the show begins, you have the opportunity to indulge in culinary delights from the Gasthaus Greil starting at 6:00 PM.

Cabaret about religion and the church can be a great deal of fun. Lainer & Aigner have long proven this with "Ich bin der Weinstock, ihr seid die Flaschen" and "Aktion Schaf." They have not only conquered cabaret stages but also parish halls. Even some clergymen (with or without a girlfriend) have enjoyed their performances.

Why now, after two "secular programs," a third on the topic of religion? Firstly, because thanks to the breathtaking pace of reform in the church, most issues are as fresh as on the first day. Secondly, because Lainer & Aigner do not want to leave Christianity to fascists or pale clerics.

Their focus is primarily on practice: Whether someone believes in one God, many, or none at all, what matters is the effort to be a kind and helpful person. The poor dog doesn’t care whether the rescuer in need calls their God Allah or Yahweh, Huitzilopochtli, or nothing at all. The main thing is that they help.

The problem lies more with those who constantly spout pious sayings to elevate themselves. Like the SchwaDa, Lainer & Aigner prefer to remain loyal to their old, flawed church, for which they are grateful that it has endured with them for so long.
