We walk from the car park at the sports field in Meerfeld up to the Mosenberg. After a short stop at the Hinkelsmaar, we go to the only mountain crater lake north of the Alps, the Windsborn. During the walk around the lake, I take a closer look at the fauna and flora of this unique body of water. After a short photo break at the summit cross, we continue to the summit hut at 517 metres or straight down to the volcano experience park with an outdoor classroom. After the rest, it's down the Horngraben to the Wolfsschlucht gorge. With its gorge forest of sycamore and Norway maple and the rare mountain elms or the thorny shield fern, it has many special features to offer, including the basalt columns. Over the Germanic bridge, the path leads us along the Kleine Kyll via the Heidsmühle back to Meerfeld.
