Almost every day there is a changing program for the whole family on the atmospheric stage in front of the west facade of the cathedral - one of Trier's UNESCO world heritage sites. The program ranges from historical puppet theater to star tenors or headliners of the regional music scene. That's why you do not only meet Santa Claus and his entourage at the Domfreihof and the medieval main market, but also the only mulled wine queen in Germany, St Nicholas, the Christmas bakery angels and thousands of visitors from all over Germany and abroad.
Trier's Christmas Market is open to all visitors free of charge.
On November 22, 2026 the Christmas Market will be closed.
