Wine hike Riesling & Friends

What the Saar still has to offer.

Riesling is the queen of white wine varieties and predominant in the Saar. However, in light of climate change, it will be necessary in the long term to also engage with other grape varieties. A different kind of outlook. We will meet high above the rooftops of the city of Saarburg and hike together around the Warsberg. You can expect a varied wine hike through the prestigious vineyards of Saarburger Rausch and Saarburger Kupp, as well as spectacular views of the best wine locations in the Saar: Ockfener Bockstein, Ayler Kupp & Scharzhofberg. Along the way, we will taste wines from various grape varieties at selected locations. For besides Riesling, there are also Pinot varieties that want to be discovered. The hike ends in the vineyards above the city center of Saarburg (10 min. to the starting point of the hike or a 10 min. walk down into the city).
It is recommended to start the hike with a cheerful cable car ride to the Warsberg, where the hike begins.

Meeting point: 11:00 AM, Upper station of the Saarburg cable car.
Duration: approx. 4 hours.
Length of the trail: 6.8 km.
