Campingplatz Ulmen, Am Jungferweiher 4, 56766 Ulmen
The originally about 128 m deep maar lake has filled in over the millennia. It was only reflooded in 1942 by damming the Nollenbach. Sediment cores today provide scientists with information about the development of climate and vegetation in long-ago times. The Jungferweiher is also an important bird sanctuary today and is known for its wealth of migratory birds. Together with the Ulmener Maar, it is under nature protection.
