The Dauner Maare are the most famous maars of the Eifel region. The town of Schalkenmehren is closely connected to the history of the maars and can boast several maars. One filled with water, a fen, and dry maars. The maars are also immortalized in the coat of arms of the picturesque town. On this tour, learn more about the fiery past of the Schalkenmehrener Maare and embark on an exciting journey through time.
