The former collegiate church - the cathedral of Wetzlar - is one of the most interesting church buildings in Germany. Its distinctive appearance has developed through numerous expansions over the centuries. Behind the Gothic west façade lie the remnants of the late Romanesque church. Another peculiarity is that the cathedral has been jointly used by the Catholic and Protestant communities since the Reformation.
