The House Friedwart is a historical and architectural highlight. Located on a large garden property at Kalsmunthang, it was built between 1914 and 1917 for Ernst Leitz II, the pioneer of Leica. Today, it is only used for receptions and chamber concerts. The exceptional interior was designed by the architect Bruno Paul, who became known as the builder of elegant villas and designer of sophisticated residential furniture. Interested visitors can only gain insights into the rooms of the villa and its outdoor facilities during guided tours. Here, of course, the eventful history of the well-known Wetzlar entrepreneur family Leitz is also explained in more detail.
