IRON METEORITE A gift from the heavens - landed in the Mühlviertel

What initially appeared to be an unremarkable chunk during the excavation of a pond turned out to be a scientific sensation: the first iron meteorite ever found in Austria! This extraordinary find is the centerpiece of a new exhibition, which will be ceremoniously opened on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the Hirschbacher Bauernmöbelmuseum Edlmühle.
A special cultural highlight accompanies the event: The group HIRSCHBACH CONNECTION will musically frame the opening with a specially composed piece titled "A Gift from Heaven" – performed live to set a festive mood.
The cultural inn Pammer and the dedicated museum team will take care of the visitors' culinary needs. Guests will also have the opportunity, after prior registration, to visit the site where the meteorite was found at the cultural inn Pammer, Guttenbrunn 3, 4242 Hirschbach. Additionally, a special dessert inspired by the meteorite theme has been created by Lucia Pammer.
