The science and enjoyment festival "Heurika findet Stadt" is coming to Mistelbach on June 29!
On June 29, 2026, Mistelbach will become the center of science: Following a successful launch in Tulln, the science festival "Heurika findet Stadt!" is moving to the district capital of Weinviertel this year – bringing research, curiosity, and a spirit of discovery right into the city. The all-day festival will take place on the grounds and in the vicinity of the Museum Center Mistelbach.
In 2026, the festival will focus on the question of how science improves our lives and how new ideas can shape the future of Lower Austria. Visitors can look forward to a diverse program: interactive stations, exciting experiments, spectacular show acts, inspiring conversations, and surprising encounters between research, everyday life, and regionality.
In the morning, Mistelbach will become an open learning space for school classes from the region. At numerous hands-on stations, young people can try out, ask questions, tinker, and experience the wide range of modern science – from technology and the environment to health and future issues that affect us all.
In the afternoon, the festival will open to the general public. Science will then become a topic of conversation: accessible, entertaining, and relatable. The program will be complemented by regional culinary offerings.
A special highlight will be a discussion format at 6:00 PM, where experts will discuss key future topics.
With "Heurika findet Stadt!", Lower Austria is making a strong statement for science communication, participation, and innovation. The festival demonstrates how much potential arises when research comes to where people live – and when new ideas are developed collaboratively.
All information will be continuously published at www.heurika.at.
