CARMEN! – the true story - Attergau Cultural Summer 2026

The enthusiasm in 2024 was so overwhelming that we are offering this evening once again: An amour fou, passion, jealousy, cruelty, and murder - the legendary story of Carmen and Don José, written down by the author Prosper Mérimée in 1845, is told here to the famous music from the opera by Georges Bizet in refined arrangements that are pure and lifelike. In addition to the two main characters, Austria's acting star Juergen Maurer takes on the role of the narrator. The "orchestra," consisting of three extraordinary musicians who are familiar with all styles and have performed together for many years, will make this Carmen a truly special event.
