CHILDREN'S OPERA WORKSHOP 2026 "A GLIMPSE INTO THE FUTURE" SATURDAY, AUGUST 1 TO SATURDAY, AUGUST 8, 2026 A picture frame is nice to look at. Whether it holds a great painting or a lovely memory photo. Or during a museum visit, where the golden, intricately carved picture frames become works of art themselves. But what if there is a picture frame through which you can look? What could you see in it? A story about the future, about dreams and hopes, and about finding your own path. By Matthias Starzinger COURSE CONTENT & SCHEDULE The Attegau Children's Opera Workshop shows new ways in terms of holistic musical education. Highly trained instructors in the field of children's music theater are eager to share their experiences with the children. Particularly pleasing: A former long-time participant of the children's opera workshop, Matthias Starzinger - from the Attergau/Attersee region - has been writing stories and scripts for the children for us for a few years now. Instructor Team 2026: Organization and Music: Sophie Bartolomey, certified piano educator, additional training in elementary music education, ensemble playing, and rhythmics, founded the successful Attegau Children's Opera Workshop 14 years ago. Direction: Simon Scharinger, certified actor and director, part of the team from the successful series of the Vienna Music Association "Sebastian and the Tone Telephone," musical member of the a cappella boy group "Hermann." Dance/Choreography: Timna Krenn, certified actress and theater maker. In her artistic work, she pursues a multidisciplinary approach focusing on movement, text work, and acting. Children aged 8 and older will work together with the instructors to create a music theater piece during this week. The framework of the story is predetermined, but there is plenty of room for the children's ideas. Under the guidance of dedicated music educators and actors, they will sing and make music together, rehearse scenes, and learn stage tricks. The goal is the final performance at the end of the week.
