Country and Will – Upper Austria. History as a Concert Experience!

The idea for a commissioned work for wind orchestra and narrator, deeply rooted in Upper Austrian history, was born 10 years ago. The focus is on the tumultuous period of the Peasants' Wars around 1626, an era of rebellion, faith, and solidarity. The Haag composer Georg Wiesinger wove historical events, emotional soundscapes, and narrative elements into an impressive overall experience. The MMK Haag am Hausruck had the honor of performing the work in 2017 at the Brucknerhaus Linz – a musical highlight that now returns in a new form.

In the new edition as part of the communale oö, the story, penned by the Aschach screenwriters Sarah Wassermair and Michael Schreckenberg, is brought to life by actor and narrator Kevin Krennhuber. Together with the powerful sound of a large wind orchestra, the men's choir Haag am Hausruck, and Grieskirchen-Tolleterau, a captivating concert experience emerges, bridging the past and the present.
