Musically, the festival makes a strong statement for the local scene right from the opening. The traditional composition commission is taken on by the well-known Viennese saxophonist Yvonne Moriel, one of the most prominent voices in the young Austrian jazz scene. After studying in Linz, Vienna, and Zurich, she developed a distinctive musical language that blends jazz, improvisation, and electronics. Awarded, among others, with the Austrian Jazz Prize, Moriel has already performed at our festival in various formations. This is an opening that underscores the festival's commitment to bringing bold visions of local artists to the big stage.
