The Göttweig Seven

What has so far only been celebrated at internal jam sessions or spontaneous late-night concerts in Göttweig finally receives a larger stage for the 30th festival edition: the concentrated creative power of the speakers from the music workshop. Just as "The Magnificent Seven" set out in 1960 to free a village from evil bandits, the "glorious seven" from Göttweig fight against the confinement of innocent genres in the solitary confinement of drawers.

Riding in from the wild west of Austria, Evelyn Fink-Mennel transforms precise historical research into spontaneous musical joy. By her side: Mia Marine, the Swedish master of irresistibly groovy violin playing. Hermann Härtel Junior, who fearlessly handles various instruments with both concert-ready and danceable flair. Gabriel Froihofer, who skillfully plays beyond the confines of his own tradition, having already placed southern Africa in southern Austria. Daniel Moser, an established jazzer with lightning-fast riffs in his quiver. Esther Wratschko, the guardian of Yiddish song heritage, fearless and unimpeachable. And Michael "Kosho" Koschorrek, one of the Sons of Mannheim, with his conquest tactics from the singer-songwriter orbit.
