Experience Safety: First Goiserer Safety Day at the Marketplace
On October 3, 2026, the marketplace in Bad Goisern am Hallstättersee will become a meeting point for everyone who wants to not only understand safety but also experience it up close.

From 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the fire departments of Goisern, mountain rescue, water rescue, the Red Cross, and civil protection of Upper Austria will present their areas of responsibility, equipment, and operational scenarios. This is not about dry theory, but about real insights. Special attention will be given to dialogue with the public. Visitors will have the opportunity to speak directly with emergency personnel, ask questions, and develop a better understanding of the challenges and decisions made during operations. This creates transparency and strengthens long-term trust in the organizations that often operate seamlessly in the background. A clear focus will also be on involving children and young people. They should experience early on how diverse and responsible the work in safety organizations is. Especially in rural areas, this is not a secondary issue: youth work determines whether operational structures remain stable in the future. The Safety Day is thus more than just a classic information event. It is a consciously set sign of community, solidarity, and active volunteerism. At the same time, it demonstrates how closely safety and quality of life are interconnected – a topic that is gaining increasing importance in tourism and spatial management. For the region, this is an important step: safety is made visible, explained in tangible terms, and thought about collectively – for locals as well as for guests.
