Salzburg Street Theater "No to Money!"

The Salzburg Street Theater says "No to Money!" in an entertaining way this summer! The Salzburg Street Theater is touring this summer with 42 performances throughout the city and countryside of Salzburg, as well as in neighboring Bavaria and, for the first time, in Upper Austria. Director Georg Clementi has chosen the successful French comedy "No to Money!" for the ensemble of the Salzburg Street Theater and is staging it with a lot of flair and music. Leading up to the premiere on July 9, you might ask yourself the question: Would you say "No" to a lottery win of 162 million euros?

Flavia Coste seems to have a sixth sense for theatrical escalations, as the play has not even lasted ten minutes before the audience is already caught in the web she has woven with her captivating debut as a playwright, leaving no chance of escape. "No to Money!" tells the story of Richard, who wants to commit a demonstrative heroic act and says "No to Money" after winning 162 million euros in the lottery. His wife Claire, his mother Rose, and Etienne, his best friend and business partner, do not find this funny at all. But for the audience, it will be a great fun!

As is customary in street theater, it is staged by Georg Clementi with a lot of flair and music, and this year it is boldly performed by Ferdinand Kopeinig, Ildiko Babos, Alex Linse, Daniela Enzi, Eric Lebeau, and Charlotte Steidl.

About the Salzburg Street Theater
It was a great desire of the renowned director Oscar Fritz Schuh to offer all Salzburg residents free theater of the highest quality in the summer. Schuh chose the traveling theater from the tradition of Commedia dell'arte as a way to bring theater to its audience. The Salzburg Cultural Association has realized this dream and has been organizing the Salzburg Street Theater annually during the festival season for 50 years.
