In April 1778, the jurist Anton Matthias Sprickmann from Münster writes to a friend: "In the first days here, I had to go to Werther's grave. We take the hired musicians with us. When we arrive at the cemetery, they don't want to go. One has a son lying there whom he doesn't want to disturb in his rest, and the other – who knows? The third even suddenly sees Werther among us, dressed in a blue tailcoat and boots, and now everyone runs away head over heels. We let the hares go and laugh after them. The next day, the story has spread throughout the whole town, and I am now the GHOST SUMMONER..."
The participants follow "Anton Matthias Sprickmann" through the old cemeteries of Wetzlar and hear about his gruesome experience: Who was the dark figure between the graves? Whose voice has been speaking from Sprickmann's head ever since? And has a respectable jurist really written the most horrifying of all horror ballads?
