I'm happy when I can tell you something about Wetzlar. Market woman Lenchen and her daughter Marie want to report in "Off Platt" and in a chatty tone about personalities of the city, the odd and the curious. Small stories of Wetzlar originals or rarely heard historical events will be discussed. August Bebel (1840-1913), who grew up in Wetzlar, the swindler Tile Kolup executed in the 13th century, the wound doctor Dr. Eisenbart (1663-1727), who took the Imperial Chamber Court for a ride, Eduard Werle (1801-1884), who ran the Champagne House Cliquot, the Wetzlar original of the 1960s Hakim Rex Aquarillo, who was actually a shoemaker and among other things regulated traffic on Karl-Kellner-Ring in Wetzlar, and finally the fate of the test-tube city Lahn (1977-1979) will be showcased during the walk through the old town in Hessian dialect.
