This year, the Day of the Apple will once again take place at the LVR Open-Air Museum in Kommern. In the dance hall from Pingsdorf, a large apple variety exhibition will be on display. Experts will be on site to conduct apple variety identifications. Please bring your apples along with a photo of the tree or the leaves, as well as some time. Information booths and many hands-on activities for children and adults will round out the program.

Several stands will offer a variety of apples and apple products, including rare regional fruit varieties, fruit trees, apple cider, and "Viez," as well as apple pancakes. The museum eateries will also expand their offerings to include apple dishes on this day. For example, there will be pork goulash with quinces and bread dumplings, as well as rice pudding with apple sauce.

For children, there is plenty to discover in the large traditional orchard of the open-air museum. Adults can have the traditional orchard explained by knowledgeable staff.
