On the eve of St. Nicholas' patronal feast, the Kolping family organises the St. Nicholas procession. This is only held in very few places. St. Nicholas, the patron saint of boatmen, is driven through our town on a ship prepared by some former members of the boatmen's association. The procession starts at 6 pm at the Wendehammer and runs along Koblenzer Straße, Rathausstraße and Liebfrauenstraße to the Liebfrauenkirche, where St. Nicholas will speak to the children. After the St. Nicholas procession, bread rolls will be distributed to the children.
