„Wildes Holz“ im Klostergarten

On Friday, July 24, 2026, at 8 PM, the exceptional band "Wildes Holz" invites you to their new program "Block Party!" in the Klostergarten Oberwesel. "Wildes Holz" is a synonym for the best live music, captured good vibes, and incredible joy of playing. Their new program celebrates music, life, diversity, wooden rock, the recorder, and much more.

For over 25 years, the trio with Johannes Behr (guitar), Markus Conrads (double bass, mandolin), and Tobias Reisige (recorders) has been showcasing where the wooden hammer hangs. Powerful acoustic music combined with casual wit and self-irony is their trademark. Time and again, they surprise with the breathtaking sounds they can pull from their instruments.

The trio has played over 2,000 concerts and released a total of 14 CDs: The band is a unique phenomenon in the German music scene. They have achieved all this with, well, an unconventional instrumentation: guitar, double bass - and the common recorder.

Who would have thought that you can actually make music with a recorder? Tobias Reisige proves it impressively. No wonder they call him the "King of the Recorder." The three do not concern themselves with genre boundaries. Rock, pop, jazz, classical, electronics - the more impossible an implementation seems on their wooden instruments, the more joyfully they prove the opposite!

Visitors can look forward to a great "Block Party!" in the Klostergarten.

If the weather does not cooperate, the concert event will take place in the Kulturhaus.
