The traditional fireworks event in the romantic Middle Rhine Valley between Trechtingshausen and Bingen / Rüdesheim has been attracting guests from all over the world since 1977. Experience grandiose fireworks, burning castles, Bengal fires, and enjoy a romantic, unforgettable evening on board one of the illuminated ships that participate in the ship convoy. Event Schedule

The ships depart in the late afternoon/early evening from Bingen or Rüdesheim. The journey passes by numerous castles and takes you into the legendary Upper Middle Rhine Valley. Not without reason was the Rhine Valley between Rüdesheim and Koblenz designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2002. Like a string of pearls, fortresses, old customs castles, and romantic ruins line both sides of the Rhine. Depending on the water level and the departure time, the ships will travel towards the Lorelei rock before meeting at the small town of Trechtingshausen and jointly returning to Rüdesheim/Bingen, passing numerous large fireworks displays. The ship convoy of numerous illuminated vessels and the impressive thunder of the magnificent fireworks are fascinating. Rhine in Flames ends with a grand final firework display near Rüdesheim and Bingen. The ships dock again around midnight in Rüdesheim or Bingen.

Rhine in Flames is a joint event of the Bingen Tourismus & Kongress GmbH and RüdEvent GmbH. The towns of Rüdesheim and Bingen are located on opposite banks of the Rhine. There is a ferry connection between the towns that operates until about 1:00 AM after the event. The nearest Rhine bridges are in Wiesbaden (approx. 30 km) and Koblenz (approx. 70 km).
