The Speech of the Panther - A Parable about Life and Death
Based on the graphic novel by Jeremie Moreau
Director: Daniel Kunze
Music: Vasko Damjanov
Dramaturgy: Monika Kosik
Youth State Theatre Tübingen
Why do ostriches stick their heads in the sand? And why do elephants look so sad? What do monkeys think about the world? And why do crabs move from shell to shell? Panther Sophia is the leading animal and a source of wisdom for all wild creatures. She helps her friends with the challenges they face in life and searches with them for answers to the big questions of life: What does freedom mean? What is identity? And how do I accept the cycle of life?
“The Speech of the Panther” is not just a collection of animal stories, but also a philosophical reflection on the world and our place in it. The ensemble of the Youth State Theatre Tübingen will read the journeys of the animals and will be surprised to find that our way of thinking might be more similar to that of the animals than we assume.
