On July 19, 2026, the Montanuniversität Leoben will present Carl Maria von Weber's "Der Freischütz," a spectacular opera experience full of romantic tension and dark mystique. Under the direction of Sarah Kettner, powerful singing, folk dance, atmospheric music, and impressive stage designs will merge into an exhilarating evening of German opera. In a proven collaboration with the Styrian Cultural Route, the Montanuniversität choir, musicians from the University of Arts Graz, and the Graz University Orchestra, conducted by Andrej Skorobogatko, will bring to life the guiding principle "Professional meets Amateur, School meets University." Look forward to an atmospheric open-air experience; in case of bad weather, the performance will be moved to a concert format.
