Luisa Muhr - Concert Bezau Beatz

As part of our festival Bezau Beatz, we invite all interested parties to a free concert with Luisa Muhr at the Klosterkirche Bezau. The Austrian experimental vocalist and interdisciplinary artist Luisa Muhr, who lives in New York, presents TEUFLIN/SHE-DEVIL, a project based on a handcrafted 12-page graphic score and improvisation. The piece questions the concept of "evil" from a female perspective as well as the separation of "good" and "evil," as it is particularly rooted in Western traditions. Muhr integrates original German texts from Goethe's Faust with a special focus on the character of Mephistopheles (or here: the Mephistophela).

TEUFLIN/SHE-DEVIL is an auditory journey that explores a wide range of vocal and instrumental lengths, imagery, and architecture, transcending genre boundaries. In the uniquely fitting atmosphere of the Kloster Bezau, she will be accompanied by the masterful improvisers Elisabeth Coudoux and Jonathan Reisin.
