OUT OF BREATH is undoubtedly one of the great film classics. But what is the story behind it? NOUVELLE VAGUE takes a look at the filming of Jean-Luc Godard's groundbreaking crime drama – with great attention to detail, numerous references, and humor.

Guillaume Marbeck shines in the lead role as a director who breaks just about all the rules of the film business. Particularly amusing are the skirmishes with his American lead actress Jean Seberg (Zoey Deutch), who finds little to appreciate in his unorthodox methods. Great alongside her is Aubry Dullin as Jean-Paul Belmondo, for whom NOUVELLE VAGUE marked an international breakthrough.

The twist: the cult director and great cinephile Richard Linklater ("Boyhood," "Before Sunrise," "Dazed and Confused") has shot his film in the style of his idol, in black and white, in the 1:1.37 format, with plenty of humor and the irresistible spirit of the early sixties.
