About House of Protection
House of Protection, the new project by Stephen Harrison and Aric Improta, sees itself as a refuge for all who surrender to impulse. Without regard for tradition or classical forms, the two follow a feeling and develop a sound that pushes their boundaries further than ever before.
Between the not-so-distant worlds of hardcore, electronica, and punk, they create a space for limitless creativity and a community that thrives on chaos. With their shared experience from Fever 333, Aric's ongoing work with the experimental rock band Night Verses, and Steve's role as guitarist for the iconic post-hardcore band The Chariot, both are known in the heavy music scene for having no fear of extremes. House of Protection picks up right there, channeling this uncompromising self-expression into an energetic vessel of anger, uncertainty, joy, and creativity.
"We wanted to create something where all our ideas—no matter how wild—feel safe," says Steve. This is exactly what House of Protection is based on: they give their audience a mix of fearlessness and euphoria that blurs the line between stage and audience.
Inspired by acts like The Smashing Pumpkins, The Prodigy, Alice Glass, Massive Attack, Cocteau Twins, and Sleigh Bells, they look to artists who have found their own way to bring energy to the stage. Together with close friends Nick DePirro (Night Verses) and Jordan Fish (Bring Me The Horizon), they created the captivating debut single "It’s Supposed To Hurt." "We knew it wouldn't be easy to start over, but that very phrase became our motto. Starting anew was the whole point," explains Aric.
This fresh start paid off: the first EP "GALORE" received positive reviews from media outlets like The Guardian, NME, Alt Press, and Kerrang! House of Protection feels right at home in this space of unpredictability—where anything is possible and everyone is welcome. Welcome home.
