Eberhardplatz, 3340 Waidhofen an der Ybbs
As part of the exhibition "STILL LISTENING," the opening at COME IN is complemented by a special concert experience: In the Bürgerspitalkirche in Waidhofen/Ybbs, the two ensembles zoat and no string quartet, featuring the exhibiting photographer, will perform, creating a lively counterpoint to the photographic stillness of the exhibition. The opening starts at 5:00 PM, and the concert begins at 7:00 PM.
ZOAT is a velvety sound structure that likes to weave away worries from the soul. The artist duo, consisting of Viktoria Hofmarcher (clarinet, vocals, Shruti), Anna Großberger (vocals, violin, Shruti), and Pia Dietl (double bass, vocals), invites you to perk up your ears, blending vocal artistry with fervor and touching honesty. In a sensitive and occasionally darkly humorous mélange of poetry slam, Viennese song, and contemporary folk, the artists, who hail from the Mostviertel region and have fled to the big city, sing about their roots, criticize tradition, bless and doubt themselves in one breath, and secretly wish for a bit of silence and serenity.
no string quartet - Together, the musicians dedicate themselves to a very special sound exploration of the different yet so interconnected instruments and their voices. The idea? To take a closer look at the genre "string quartet," to carry the advantages of this four-part arrangement into new realms of composition, arrangement, and collaborative music-making. Additionally, genres are broken open; the ensemble's music draws from classical, contemporary, folk, jazz, and world music, as well as elements of improvisation, creating a unique sound language and atmosphere.
