Ghosts – after Henrik Ibsen

What happens when someone spends a lifetime trying to do everything right — and ultimately breaks under the pressure? Helene Alving has always organized, adapted, but above all concealed her past. For society. For her reputation. For her son. But when her son Oswald returns home, the construct of lies, compromises, and secrets begins to crumble. Piece by piece, what was never meant to be spoken is brought to light. The ghosts that Ibsen speaks of are not supernatural apparitions. They are secrets, thoughts, puzzles, and fears that take hold, thus gaining power over individuals, families, and entire societies.

Theater Between Worlds
The Theater Between Worlds is a newly formed theater collective of young people who have a professional ambition for theater. Based at the FREIE BÜHNE WIEN in the 4th district, they create several pieces across all theater genres and regularly perform them in repertoire and upon request. “GHOSTS – after Henrik Ibsen” is their inaugural production.
