With the 13th edition of TAsten, TAnz & TAgtool, the focus is on Chen Mao Shuen – a composer navigating cultural spaces, aesthetic systems, and historical shifts. 2026 would mark his 90th birthday. The Kunsthaus Urhof20 seizes this opportunity to not read his work retrospectively, but to bring it into the present.

For over a decade, the trio of Albert Mühlböck (piano), Bea von Schrader (body / choreography), and Die.Puntigam (Tagtool / visual systems) has been developing formats at the intersection of music, movement, and real-time imagery. Composition is not seen as a completed work, but as an open structure: a score for space, body, perception, and time.

Drawing from Chen Mao Shuen's musical thinking, a performative experimental setup emerges, where sound tips into movement, gestures become images, and visual processes respond to musical structures. Archival material meets the present, precision meets instability, memory meets presence.

The performance is understood as both translation and friction: a concert, choreography, installation, and live composition all in one. An evening about resonance, transformation, and the question of how a work continues to live on when it is re-embodied.
