The Journey to Callisto

We are at the beginning of the 22nd century. These are the adventures of the spaceship Zimodorok I, which, along with its six-member crew, is on a mission to explore Jupiter's moon Callisto. On this expedition, the Russian crew consisting of a nuclear physicist, an astrobiologist, an engineer, a geochemist, and pilots ventures into unknown galaxies: the perfect noodle soup, trouble with the tax office, their own feelings. Not even a light-year away from Earth, Jelena, Boris, Natascha, Ilya, Sonja, and Kolja are already confronted with the unbearable meaninglessness of existence, while the cosmos simultaneously strives for chaos and a faint crunch is heard outside.

In a kaleidoscopic sequence of 66 snapshots, Michel Decar beams the bourgeois drama from 1900 two hundred years into the future, where it lands precisely in the present time. On this flight through the vastness of the cosmos, Decar lovingly and with subversive humor reveals the absurdity and tragedy of humanity in all its ridiculousness.
